2023 – Present:Gabe Wilde is the sole owner.
2023: Jeremy Wallace retired from Alternative Energy.
2013 – 2023:Jeremy and Gabe continued their partnership.
2013: Steve Haycock retired from Alternative Energy.
2009 – 2013: Steve, Jeremy, and Gabe maintained a partnership.
2009: Steve brought in Jeremy Wallace and Gabe Wilde as partners, preparing to retire and pass the torch.
1980: Steve Haycock founded Alternative Energy and served as sole owner until 2009.

Gabe’s vision is shaped by his relationship with Jesus Christ, and he is team-oriented, believing in each employee’s ability to succeed and contribute to the Alternative Energy family while providing for their own individual families. Gabe has been with Alternative Energy since 2001 . During that time, he spent considerable time in each position, making each more organized and efficient on his way to a leadership role. He has been a major contributor to Alternative Energy’s technological advantage, known for taking complex systems and making them simple to operate and reliable for the end user. Many contractors, architects, engineers, controls experts, and homeowners reach out to Gabe personally when they need help or consulting on a complex system or issue.

Russell Nystrom
Service Manager

Our Service Manager is a wizard.  There isn’t a hydronic radiant system out there that Russell can’t repair.  His unique sense of loyalty to Alternative Energy and to our clients works hand in hand with his sincerity and calm composure.

When he’s not helping maintain our clients’ heating systems, you’ll find Russell getting black and blue doing mixed martial arts, taking the road less traveled, backpacking the Sierras, tickling the ivory on his piano, or catching air snow skiing.

Austin Brock
Project Manager
Member of the Alternative Energy family since 2008

Austin may be among the best installers, but he’s also a team player, helping in the service department whenever needed.  His positive attitude is infectious and his drive to get any job done has been a game changer for Alternative Energy.  Austin has stepped in to the leadership role with finesse and a smile.

Austin likes spending time with his family and 4-wheeling with the guys.

Sergio Huizar
Foreman
Member of the Alternative Energy family since 2012

Alternative Energy has been blessed to call Sergio one of our own.  Sergio is hard working, positive, self-motivated, and adept.  His knowledge of our hydronic radiant systems and his relationships with our contractors keep us successful.

Sergio looks forward to traveling to fun places with his wife and children, watching movies, rooting for his favorite sports teams, and keeping himself sharp with puzzles.

Cody Brock
Lead Estimator
Member of the Alternative Energy family since 2010

Cody is a strong asset for the company.  Starting out in our shop, overseeing our fleet and inventory, Cody worked his way up to being our lead estimator.  He is a computer whiz and stays up to date on the latest industry products.  Understanding the variety of hydronic radiant system needs and their applications throughout Central California is something Cody prides himself on.

Cody spends his time off 4-wheeling and camping with his family.

Shelly Wyatt
Operations Manager
Member of the Alternative Energy family since 2015

Shelly joined Alternative Energy after a successful 15-year career as a licensed insurance agent. Her strong customer service background, combined with her eagerness to learn, has made her an excellent addition to our team. Shelly’s decades of experience in organizing and executing community events bring valuable creativity and expertise to her role. Shelly is excited to be part of a work family that shares her values.

Shelly spends her time off traveling, camping, cooking, and snorkeling.  Her favorite vacation spot is Kauai.

Josh Davis

We are proud to have Josh as a Field Technician on our team. We count on his confidence and hands-on skill set daily, to install our beautiful systems.

Josh’s hobbies include hunting, shooting, fishing, and riding his Harley.

Jeff Cooper
Service Technician

Jeff came to us with a toolbelt full of knowledge and getting him up to speed with our unique systems was easy.  He has a natural gift to communicate with homeowners, property managers, and contractors.  Jeff works well with Russell, creating a hard working and professional service team.

Family and the outdoors keep Jeff busy in his free time.

Millie Smith
Accounts Manager

Millie brings a wealth of experience to the role of Accounts, managing our financial record-keeping and reporting. She is dedicated to maintaining accurate financial data, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the company’s growth and operational success.

Outside of work, Millie enjoys spending quality time with family, volunteering in the community, baking delicious treats, and exploring new destinations through travel.
